BFG stands for Big Friendly Giant. The story is about a giant that, unlike his fellow giants, refrains from eating ‘human beans’, that is, people. With the help of a little girl, Sophie, and the intercession of Her Royal Majesty the Queen herself, they bring to book these awful human eating giants.
The main theme of the book I guess you could say is the relationship between a young girl and an a somewhat lonely, sensitive adult man, which lends the novel a certain charm.
In fact, there’s something mythological about the Big Friendly Giant, and if I had any great knowledge of Greek mythology, I’m sure I could draw some parallels.
