For the first time on this blog I’m doing a ‘flashback’ post, like they do in American sit-coms when they’re too cheap to make a real episode. Hence I shall link below all of my previous P. G. Wodehouse posts.
I’m at a loss for words. In my previous post on Wodehouse I described his novels as written in a kind of stream-of-British-consciousness style. You can’t pick out one of his novels alone as a stand out classic.
The same goes with Heavy Weather. An enjoyable read, but with such a convoluted plot. In the blurb at the beginning Wodehouse describes his novels as musical comedies without the music which pointedly ignore real life. Well, he had no illusions about the sort of novels he wrote.
