What's the story about?
Ganesha's Sweet Tooth is a clever re-working of the famous Hindu legend. In this version for kids, Ganesha appears as a little boy with a serious addiction to sweets, especially the traditional Indian dessert laddoo. However, this love of sweets almost brings little Ganesha undone when he tackles a super jumbo jawbreaker laddoo. His friend, Mr. Mouse, warns him not to attempt the irresistable treat. Too late. Ganesha snaps a tooth! He soon becomes depressed by his disfigured appearance. But his problems are somewhat solved when he meets the poet Vyasa who finds a new and clever use for the broken tooth that Ganesha was determined to throw away.

Sanjay Patel illustrated the book and co-wrote the story with Emily Haynes. Sanjay works as an animator and storyboard artist for Pixar Animation Studios. His other books include The Big Poster Book of Hindu Deities and Ramayana: Divine Loophole.
Emily Haynes works as an editor and likes to make ceramics in her spare time.
